At the December meeting, we followed a different approach. Instead of putting up picture (prophetic) tables indoors by the Tesco’s entrance, we set them up outside the building, further down towards Decathlon. There was a steady flow of people going down this route, a lot were going towards Printworks, where there was a concert by Belgium techno artist, Amelie Lens.
They had no idea that some of them were to encounter the Holy Spirit that day!
This time a number of us were giving free hugs to any passer by who wanted it. Many of them said that they needed the hug very much and it gave them joy and peace. We also had drawn large hearts on the ground using chalk. The passers by were walking through these hearts where prayers for “your miracle” were happening.
In general, the hugs helped to create an amazing positive atmosphere around us. One of our hugger team members said she counted doing 44 hugs that day and was able to give positive word to each person she hugged!
Two unrelated Chinese women, one a student, the other a mother and child, approached our picture tables at different times. They both picked the same picture! A pig. This may be related to the fact that in Chinese culture, pork was a treat saved for festivals. Pigs are traditionally associated in Chinese culture with prosperity and good health.
A young man from Cyprus picked a picture of a tree and a picture of a young bear in nature. He found the words he received relevant and very encouraging.
A young man around 20 years old said he did not know what he wanted to do with his life. He picked a picture of tools and a picture of a girl. He was given word that gave him hope about his life.
A Hungarian man was invited into the large heart we had drawn on the ground. He wanted to talk about God and Jesus and received Jesus into his life on that day!
A lady who practiced Reiki / energy healing came over to us. She said she had seen Jesus in her dreams; he was warning her about the Reiki practice. She allowed us to pray for her to be guided by Jesus, so that her dreams can be used in God’s plan for the world.
A lady picked a picture of pigs running a race. She was told that she is in a race towards something and she enjoys what she is doing. It turned out she had just started running half marathons. She allowed us to pray for her that Jesus will come into her life just like he has for all of us.
A lady fell over in the shopping centre. One of us was nearby and helped her up. She had hurt her knees and agreed for us to pray for her. Amazingly some other ladies started praying for her at the same time, although they were not with the lady who fell over, All this made the injured lady feel better. We helped her to find her bus time to get home.
There were many other encounters that day, too many to record here.
They are drenched by mountain rains and hug the rocks for lack of shelter.
