Ten of us joined the outreach and we all had a great day of encounters and fellowship in Surrey Quays. Together, we brought peace, healing and the joy of God to the area and the people we encountered.
We split into two groups, one group staying at the picture table outside Tesco’s. The pictures always attract a lot of interest and we gave many people words of encouragement.
The other group walked around the area of the Tesco’s shopping centre. The walk around group split into two smaller groups. At the halfway point of the day, the groups at the picture table and walking around switched roles.

The following is a summary of some of the encounters of the day.
We started the day at the office in Pell Street for worship and activation by the Holy Spirit. Each of us wrote down words of knowledge given to us about our forthcoming encounters.
We prayed for a man from Greece. He wanted prayers, especially for his parents. And a Polish man who knows God, but does not like church. We prayed for blessings and made him happier. A woman with a special private life changing situation was very touched by God and left us in a happier state. A man wanted prayer for his sister with lung cancer. And encouragement was given for a guitar busker.
An African lady who had been prayed for before was visited again. She was very pleased to see us. While with her, a man came over to her stall and was blessed with a bracelet. He wanted prayer and opened up about his father who is ill with stomach cancer. Stomach illness had been one of the words from God that we had received earlier. He was very emotional, crying and overwhelmed by the love of Jesus.
A Vietnamese woman in the shopping centre, a charity worker, was greatly encouraged by our words of affirmation. Although without faith, she recognised the hand of God in what we were doing. She believed in the power of good works, and the rewards associated with giving oneself selflessly.
One of us received a personal testimony from a member of the team and was quite moved by the word she gave. It was regarding his personal situation and God’s love and blessings over his life.
One of our female team members was approached by a man who said she looked like a fallen angel. He was astonished by her testimony and is now coming to HTB church.
At the picture table, a lady came up to us and asked for a word. She was told she is carrying an inner light in all circumstances. When she is joyful, when she frets alone and sad. And others see that light and are blessed by it. She felt very receptive and shared that she has done a similar outreach with her church. But they did not have the courage to go out into the streets and do it! She did not want prayer for herself, but shared that her 5 year old niece has been given 6 months to live with liver cancer. She received prayer for that.
Two boys around 12 years old approached the picture table. They chose pictures with very similar tones and colours. One boy received word that he really enjoyed being by himself, in his own thoughts, receiving lots of interesting, unusual, innovative ideas. They both seemed encouraged by the words.

A Portuguese lady seemed reluctant to come to the picture table. After speaking with one of us, she eventually became comfortable to listen to some words. She received words about her destiny, about coming into new things and the desires of the heart coming true. She was told that she was in a new season of her life. She said these words were all true. She encouraged us to keep doing this outreach, because it was so encouraging to her!
One guy picked a picture of a frog. He was given word about the frog prince story where the prince was trapped inside a frog. The sense was that he had an identity on the inside that wasn’t recognised on the outside. He said it was relevant, but did not want to share any details.
A man was in tears when we prayed for him. His Dad has cancer. Our team member saw a picture of a man holding a child. The man in tears said the image was spot on, as a child has been born into the family. But our team member felt it was God taking this man into his arms. The man said something. We have a feeling that God is going to heal his Dad.
We found a man fitting the words given to us earlier in the day. He was sitting on a bench drinking lager and looking anxious. He shared that his friend, who he used to work for, had died. He had been to the funeral the day before and had been drinking heavily ever since. He allowed us to pray for him. He opened up to us and was very thankful.
We found a lady sitting down near the lake, who fitted our words from earlier. She said she was exhausted from her job mainly, was interested in our words, allowed us to pray for her and thanked us.
Another lady received a word from us and allowed us to pray for her. She said it was spot on.
We thank the Holy Spirit for these revelations and encounters! We pray that forgiveness, healing and deliverance come to the lives of those we encountered. Amen
